Are you ready for sex?

Any sexual interaction with someone is an important decision. If you are thinking about whether you are ready, it is important that you are aware of the different laws about how old you have to be to have sex, and how the law defines sex. Before you have sex, you should be well-informed about safety and risks about sex.

There’s no age where everyone is “ready” to have sex. Having sex and feeling ready to have sex is all on your own terms, not just if and when someone else wants you to be ready, or thinks you should be ready.

Readiness for sex with someone isn’t a one-time thing – just like consent! Readiness for sex with someone is situational, and something that is establish on every occasion you may engage in sex and where your feelings and answer as well as the other person’s feelings and answer are not always the same.

Remember, it is NEVER okay for someone to force you to have sex without your consent – you have the right to say NO at any time.
