Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Forum: Domestic and Family Violence forum

On 29th and 30th March 2017 an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Forum: Domestic and Family Violence was hosted by the Domestic Violence Prevention Council and facilitated by Coolamon Advisers. This forum was the product of a partnership between the Domestic Violence Prevention Council and the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body.

The forum explored barriers to, and opportunities for improving, services and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the ACT affected by family violence.  The attached Report details the discussions.

Review of Domestic and Family Violence Deaths in the ACT

This report from by the Domestic Violence Prevention Council presents the findings of a review of deaths that occurred as a result of domestic or family violence between 2000-2012 in the ACT. The review sought to provide a clearer picture of domestic and family violence in the ACT and provide advice to government to inform future decisions about violence prevention and detection mechanisms.
